C6 running route review. Thank you City of Taguig!

One of the best (probably unknown) running route in Metro Manila is the ongoing construction of C6 road in Lower Bicutan, Taguig. It’s just 0.5miles from my home so me, my girlfriend and my dad would take a 10minute walk/warm-up to go there.
Map of future C6 road, about 1Mile or 1.6Kms from SM Bicutan
C6 is quite long, stretching from Lower Bicutan to Pasig (I think, I’m not so sure), I have crossed the Pasig River on it. Using my GF405, I’ve measured the whole stretch to be about 4.56Miles or 7.296Kms.

END OF C6. No, I didn’t swim the Pasig River, there’s now a bridge there. Google Earth’s just not updated.
Unlike street/road running, the air here is fresh, and you would see a lot of Runners, Joggers, and Walkers. The breeze is cool, and you could see the Laguna Lake. Actually, for today, I’m recovering from my 15Mile run yesterday, so I decided to just accompany my girlfriend Elizabeth on her 2.5Mile training run. So for now I’ll just be a bystander who’d take some photographs of this nice C6 road and the nice creatures around it.
Here’s my Beth Running on C6. She could be a gifted runner. Without much training, she clocked 1:03 on her first 10K race, and her best time for 5K was 28mins. During that time, she only ran 1-2 times a week. I didn’t think she would improve like that. Then she stopped running for a month due to slight ankle injury. Now that she’s well, I’m trying to coach her. With consistent training, I believe she could break 1hour of 10K. Watch out, soon you’ll eat her dust…

Pictures of Other Runners

There is a downside for this running route. The rocks. I tripped several times already and have recovered, but on my last run there, I fell hard, real hard that I scraped my hands till they bleed. I ran back home bleeding (See my first week of 2009).

Hello Kitties!!! These kittens are so cute! They’re probably bundling their bodies together because of the cold breeze.
For now, I hope the officials of Taguig would continue their procrastination not to finish the C6 road. It has been there for more than 5 years and I haven’t seen any improvement. As a runner, thank you Taguig for this nice running route you have provided us. Please forget completing the C6 project. It’s probably one of the most successful negligence the City of Taguig has ever made. Hahaha!

Whoa… nice pics and nice blog! a new place for running. ganda, we should check out this place sometime.:-)
Sir Patrick, Sir Rene,
Hope to see you guys when you run there!
Wow, very interesting route! Thanks for sharing it here. And Nats, ambilis nga ni Beth – and she’ll be even faster for sure with your coaching!
>Yeah, I hope I could help her become even faster. When she did those fast running times, she was only running 1-2 times a week, until she injured herself. Now she’s running consistently 3times a week for 3weeks now.
Some runners are just gifted that it’s sometimes unfair for us ordinary runners that we need to work harder to achieve the same results
Nathaniel, thanks for sharing this. I wish that there would be more routes like c6 here. There are a couple of trails in the Presidio and the Crissy Field route which is a lot like C6.
Hope things are going well with you. Please take care as always! Always thinking about you and my friends there!
>Hi Wayne, thanks for visiting again. I bet there are a lot more better running routes there in SF. You should share them as well so we could also imagine how beautiful your city is.
Unfortunately not all are well with me. I have an Achilles tendinitis right now but good thing I read the article in runnersworld.com on how to tape it. I guess it works ‘coz I just ran 7miles this morning. However I still don’t really trust the tape, it could protect my injury but I think it could introduce even more injuries. I’ll just lower my mileage this week further until my Achilles heel are well.
Hi there, where does the road end in Pasig pala? Is there a good parking spot just in case? Thanks for the info..
>Sir, I’m not sure… I have to be honest with you, at the end of the C6 in Pasig looks like a slum area with lots of dangerous looking people and a big squatter area. The Lower Bicutan part is safer. I will have to update the Map to show you how to go there safely. I’ll also take a photograph of where you can actually park. I’ll update this blog this Saturday, since you’re a Sunday Warrior
Nathaniel, when the weather gets a little better here, I’ll get out the camera and share the routes with all of you.
Regarding the achilles, please be careful. If you ran seven miles recently, that’s good. Reducing the mileage will help but make sure you ice it after the run. It helped me get over the achilles injruy that I had.
>Hi Wayne, I was able to run 16miles last Sunday even with the Achilles tendinitis. I used the RW’s taping technique with a duct-tape. Hahaha! It’s really getting better now. But I think I know what’s the cause. I was trouble-shooting/debugging huge machine at work, that my posture was eccentric, and it was stretching my calves and Achilles heel while I was balancing my weight. It’s hard to explain… but when it happened, I think I was still tired from my long run, so my legs were still kinda weak.
Hi i2runner,
That’s a really nice running route there. Thanks for the review and pictures.

>Thanks for visiting my blog!
Nats, di pa tayo nagkita sa race. About Beth, I agree that she may be a born runner. Her track record is incredible. Wala pang training yan ha. Lucky for her, libre na siya sa running coach hehe . . . Hope to see you both in future races.
Take care.
>Ma’am Nora, sorry for the late reply. Oo nga, di pa rin tayo nagkikita… Sorry po kasi I’m training for the Marathon, so puro ridiculously long yung mga long runs ko ngayon. Every weekend I break my personal record for the longest run. So far nakaka 16miles na po ako ngayon. This Sunday dapat 18miles or 28.8Kms, siguro mga 3hours ko gagawin yun. I still can’t imagine how to run my first marathon. I’m still nervous. So right now, puro long slower runs ako, bawal muna racing. Siguro po sa Condura Marathon nalang. Maybe we’ll meet there. Pwede po bang magpa picture sa inyo?
Oo nga po, lakas ni Beth. I wasn’t expecting her to be that fast. She doesn’t look athletic – most people think she should be a muse instead, until she outruns most of her workmates. Hehehe… Like most newbies, masyado syang enthusiastic, and I try to minimize her runs to prevent her from overtraining or burning-out. She’s just 25yrs old, so she still have a lot of running years ahead of her.
[...] already had 800miles (1287.2Kms) on them already. Well he runs on the softer ongoing construction C6 road so it could have helped lengthen the mileage of his shoes. Without hesitation, I bought the shoes [...]
can I request for the road map? or running map? for 3kms or 5kms
thanks
