Pig-out at Itallianni's

I hate the word “pig-out”. For me, it’s a Running sin. Runners are committing a sin when they “pig-out”. Do you want to run like a pig? You are what you eat, and even how you eat.

It reminds me of what I’ve been doing for the last 7-8 years of my life before starting running again. In the past, doing the “pig-out” in what supposed to be a “paminsan minsan lang” became a regular part of my life. Then my body transformed its shape to resemble a family of Suidae. Now, after a year of running and a 30pound weight loss, I never want to go back to that kind of lifestyle again… until last Saturday… My Beth and I walked past a signboard at Megamall that shows P595 eat-all-you-can at Itallianni’s.

The food was so delicious! The pizza was heavenly. It’s very cheap considering the price of their other specialties on their menu. Looks like all the food ingredients were all carefully selected. We ate till our stomachs expanded, felt some pain, rested for a few minutes, and then ate some more. Then I saw a sign at the restaurant that says, “Reserve some room, our desserts are delicious!”, so I went to the dessert section and saw the liquid chocolate dip for the marshmallows. I didn’t really like marshmallows, but I love grapes – they have a lot of these at the salad section. So I took a handful, and poured the sinful liquid chocolate all over. Each spoonful of these chocolate-flavored grapes in my mouth was pure bliss that when I close my eyes I felt some kind of euphoria… it feels like having sex or running for at least 1hour.

I know I have committed a huge running sin. Therefore I feel I need to run 16miles the next day to make sure all those calories are burned. But now I realized, even if I didn’t pig-out, I would still run those 16miles anyway. :-)

Mmmm… chocolate flavored grapes… I ate 3 servings of these…
mmm!

We need it from time to time, don’t worry. The good thing is you ran.

    >You and your fast wife Christy made me burn all those calories real fast! I think my gas was empty when I was on my way home…

  2. Pigging out once in a while is cool. i do it 1……ok maybe …2 times a week. its a great mind game. it gets you hungrier to train and run better. hey did you join the Happy run? i think i saw you or someone who looked liked you. see you soon . thank you. oh and by the way got me a Nike – lunar ( the colour gray ) thanks again

    >Sir Patrick, Yes that was me! I called your name, your direction was going uphill and I was downhill the McKinley Hill. I didn’t actually register for the Happy Run, I was just doing my 16Mile long run when I saw the race and joined as a bandit – I got free water so I just hope Coach Rio won’t read this. It was a great race with all the music. Probably the one of the best this year. I’m still waiting for Photovendo.ph to release the pictures… Hehehe…
I am training for my first Milo Marathon so I won’t be registering at any race at the moment, except for your amazing Condura Skyway Half-marathon. I’m really excited to run that unique course (You’re a genius for thinking of running on Skyway. Definitely a runner’s high), and I’ll try to run it as fast as I can – whatever the result would be, I would enter the data unto Jack Daniel’s formula to pace myself for the Milo Marathon.
I guess we’re both lunatic to be fans of the Nike Lunars. I thought it was black but it’s really grey… But it does blend with dark asphalt, right? It looks better on you since you wear the ninja black running outfit.
