Shoes I bought today – NB903 and Black Lunar Trainers
One of the pleasures I find in running (aside from eating a lot and not gain weight), is buying new running shoes. Since my old lunars were already hurting my feet during my runs, I needed to buy immediately so I could run again tomorrow. So I went to Festival Mall after office hours and first went to New Balance shoe store at the ground floor. I saw the sign “SALE” that I think they post everyday so I checked it out. I saw the NB903 lightweight stability shoes that had 40% off but was only available in size12. I remember these shoes have great reviews due to its lightweight and stability (When I got home, we found out that these NB903 were actually lighter than his Lunar Trainers of the same size!).

I remember my father telling me his old running shoes already had 800miles (1287.2Kms) on them already. Well he runs on the softer ongoing construction C6 road so it could have helped lengthen the mileage of his shoes. Without hesitation, I bought the shoes and then went straight to Nike Stadium. They had another new black color of Nike Lunar Trainers that are actually darker than the ones I already have. This time the color of the laces are now white. It has a more “EMO” look in it. I can’t wait to use them with my black takbo.ph singlet during races. Now I need to look for black running shorts, change my hairstyle, get some Glutathione treatment, run only at night, and I’ll be an Emo-Runner.

Naks big time Natz! New toy! Sub 45 ka na nyan! Idol! Wohoo!
nice one natzter! hehehe
kelan ba namin makikita yan in action? hehehehe
What’s the difference between men and boys? It’s their toys.
Hahahaha!
timster! thanks for visiting my blogs. it’s not that impressive, magkamukha lang sila ng dark grey lunar trainers. But I’ve heard Nike’s planning to release the Lunar Glide soon, that is not only good in cushioning but also have great support and stability.
adik sa shoes!
if you really love the lunars, i suggest you buy as many as you can now. i read somewhere that nike has already stopped this line. so buy them now while it’s still there…
Yup you’re absolutely right! I’ve heard they will stop the lunars by this September. So I’ll probably replace this one by that time. I think I’ll buy the new red one…
Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it.
Kung adik ako sa shoes, anong tawag sayo?
Imelda Marcos of running shoes?
Hahaha!
Natz, I’m partial but I really like the NB 903s. I’ve been told by several runners here that have worn the shoe that if you like the 903, you’ll definitely like the 904 that is out right now. I’ve used the 903 exclusively for racing since last September and it’s been great.
Please take care.
Hi Wayne, thanks for your feedback. Glad to have an New Balance expert here
Yup the 903’s really light, how much mileage could we expect from these shoes? My Dad has tried the NB903 yesterday but he said his feet were hurting perhaps he needs to put on his orthotics.
I’ve tried the new 904’s in NB stores in Makati, maybe I’m wrong but they feel a little heavier than the 903. Perhaps they have improved the stability of the shoes? I could and feel the difference of its dual midsole design.
Painggit ka naman Natz eh. Now I’m suddenly thinking of these darn running shoes again! (I call them darn but I so love them.)
Wag kang mainggit, wala na kong pera dahil naubos sa sapatos
Buti nga merong sale sa New Balance, at meron akong natanggap na Nike Gift Certificate from a good running friend of mine (or ours?
). Laking tulong din yun!
Thanks to the “friend”, you know who you are
Natz, the NB903 is probably a 300-400 mile (500-650km) shoe. I’m close to 600km on them right now and they feel very flat. The spring is gone. Unfortunately, I haven’t tried the 904s but I went on what a couple of running friends told me. They are slighly heavier according to the catalog.
Thanks for the info Wayne! My Dad told me he’ll just use his lunar trainers (that already have 800miles on them!!!) during training. He’ll save the new NB903 for the Milo Marathon since he loves them so much. I guess he’ll be doing your method without knowing it
Wait when LunarGlide+ comes out! hahaahhaa!!
Hi Sam, wow that’s nice! When is Nike Releasing it? Maybe I’ll try them someday when they discontinue the Lunar Trainers. I saw some pics of those shoes at http://solesirius.com/2009/04/20/nike-lunarglide-featuring-the-dynamic-support-system/ and it looks more subtle and for a serious runner than the lunatic trainers. But I doubt it if it could be lighter than the trainers. Take a look at its blown rubber outsoles. I think it could be a real high mileage running shoe.
Uy, tama ka. “Our friend” is heaven-sent noh! And I hope “friend” reads this, hahaha!
(We never know, baka maulit, hehehe
)
Cathy,
Our friend is a running angel. He/she is so humble they don’t even want me to say their names. Oo nga, sana maulit.
I believe it will be available in the market by July this year. However, some lucky people will already have those by June! Waahhhhaaaa!! Abangan!
Sam
todo na ito! daming shoes!
I own both of those shoes, they feel rather similar to me, while running anyway.
Hi i2runner,
Saw your link at takbo.ph, I thought I drop by. Hey, I was looking for NB903 for my next shoes because of all the great reviews, kaya lang most of the NB store I’ve been to, told me na run-out na
and they only have 904 which I wasn’t too keen to get, kaya kinuha ko na lang yung mr1063 which is quite good too.

Im at 450 miles and they are starting to give out. I really love these shoes and I’m thinking of buying 2 and putting up the other till I am ready for it. Nike really came correct.
Hi Gene, the NB903 is an old model on sale. They have a new and improved NB904 model.
Hi you should try out the Lunar Glide coming this July. http://i2runner.wordpress.com/2009/05/30/nike-lunar-glide-review-draft-first-impressions/
