Kenny Rogers' Urbanite Meal
Okay, so now we runners are all excited to run the Kenny Rogers Urbanite Run this coming August 15, 2009, but some of us who have registered, like Beth, are actually more (if not equally) excited to try out the Kenny Roger’s Urbanite Meal (that is included in the P600.00 registration fee). After all, it’s all about the food. My expectations weren’t high, but Beth was so excited that she told me we should eat at Kenny Rogers as soon as possible!
So last Saturday we went to Kenny Rogers’ at Glorietta to try out this meal. You could actually buy the Urbanite meal for P200.00 without registering for the Run, so comparing it with the other Kenny Rogers’ Combo Meal prices, it’s actually a high end meal.
Nutritiously Delicious!

The meal looks, smells and tastes really delicious that I feel guilty eating it. Then I examined it closer, the combination of Carbohydrates, Protein, and Good Fats are actually perfectly nutritious! I can’t think of any food more deliciously healthier than this. Most cheap restaurants add too much spices and sauce that they actually mask the real taste of the food, but luckily Kenny Rogers have subtle flavorings that it only enhances the natural flavor of the fresh vegetable-fruit salad and the perfect even-cooking of its roast chicken. Ok, I admit I removed the chicken skin to reduce the calorie content. Actually the food looks low in calorie content, I don’t think it’s enough to carbo-load a 42.195km marathoner. But the spaghetti carbs should be able to power-up a 15K runner, and it’s an overkill for the 5Km distance (which I will run). Afterwards, Beth and I were really full that we forgot to eat our merienda. The Urbanite Meal exceeded my expectations!
No wonder Beth was so happy at Kenny Rogers.
