Finalists for the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards – Best Sports Blog

i2runner.com was lucky enough to qualify for the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards Finalists (this time I didn’t injure myself). So I would like to thank the PBA for appreciating this site, it’s an honor just to be included in your Finals! However being the only blog about Running in the list, I feel quite pressured to represent our sport. But I take this pressure as a challenge to improve this blog to the next level and hope the readers would keep coming back and would learn a lot for themselves.
All of the blogs that made it to the finals are really good–well written, entertaining, and are about popular spectator sports like Basketball and Boxing. However I would like to emphasize and take pride that we runner-bloggers write more about our own personal experiences–racing, training, injuries, hardships, endeavors, challenges, celebrations, love, sport and life of running. Our personal blogs are therefore sincere, realistic, pure, inspiring, and perhaps challenges readers to be more competitive with themselves or with other runner-bloggers.
Here are the links to the finalists:

Congrats Natz!
Congratulations i2runner!!
Best of luck to you on the PBA Finals. And on your Milo Marathon this Sunday. Will you still run despite of the ITBS? Good luck ulit.
Sir Rafael – Thanks and thank you for always visiting my blog. Please text me when you arrive here in Metro Manila.
Sir Jason, Thanks, hey I like your blog, it looks technical and witty
we can learn a lot from you, from running to boxing. I’m not sure if I could join the Milo Marathon, I lost a lot of endurance due to 3months downtime. I’m thinking of joining the takbo.ph support group for the Milo Finals.
natz, congratulations! frankly speaking, our running blogs are better than those other sports blog which are just like newspapers. blogs are supposed to be a we(b log)—a journal of your activities and not a site for a messenger or newscaster. keep on writing and running!
Congratulations and Good Luck!
Sir Jovie, wow thank you for your kind comments. Our we(b log)s are the fruits of our own sweat and blood. We run long and hard and then write about it and expect nothing in return. Our blogs just keep our running community close together and it actually keeps on growing (now at an unbelievable rate). Which is really great! Now kind blogs like Jonel have even raised funds to help multiple typhoon victims.
Sir Mark, thanks and good luck to your marathon training as well. I hope you’ll stay injury free

Hi Alfred, I didn’t win. FireQuinito won the best sports blog. Well that guy is a really good writer. Like a pro! I won’t be running with you elites, but I will be with takbo.ph and Renier Pacific to support the Milo 42K and 21K runners, so see you there! I’ll hand you a gatorade
Being the only finalist from among all bloggers about running, doesn’t that make you feel like a winner, too?!
See you tomorrow and I hope to get that Gatorade…
