About i2runner

My name is Nathaniel Garcia, and I’m a running, engineering, and blogging machine. This blog is about my pursuit of running excellence up to the limits of my genetic abilities.  I intend to do this by intelligently improving (i2) my health and fitness that should contribute to faster running times.

My day job as a Test Engineer is to optimize production testing of semiconductor devices in a manufacturing company. But every morning before going to the office, I run, train, and try to learn smart ways to do it. Then every month or so, I test the limits of my endurance, speed, and stamina. Now I also find myself testing and reviewing shoes, gadgets, and other products for running.

i2runner2In a way, this is a running logbook, so it should be an rlog instead of blog.  I’ll try to post only significant logs that aren’t boring.  Maybe only new experiences in my running or events.  I won’t be posting those “junk” easy miles.   I hope to contribute in some ways to a beginning runner reading this, and/or maybe receive some contributions from veteran fast runners. Please feel free to comment on this site. Thanks for viewing.

If you need to contact me, my email addresses are nathaniel.garcia@i2runner.com and zixedzixednatz@gmail.com.

Wow, the running ‘Nuts’ starts writing! Loko lang, Nats! :) I’m sure you’ll post many interesting pieces here. Keep running!

Sir Jinoe, paano nyo nalaman tong blog na to? Di ko pa naman to na publish sa takbo.ph ah… meron ba kayong natanggap na notification sa wordpress? hirap din pala gumawa ng blog, nose-bleed ako sa english….

Ma’am Cathy, yup, sana nuts-runner or nutty runner title ko, but someone else was already a “loony” runner. So I decided to be the “intelligent” and strivng to “improve” runner. As we’ve discussed in the forums, running is a mental sport.

  4. cathydaza says:

Point made, but I refuse to be called ‘Ma’am Cathy’. LOL! :)

    OK, sorry po Ma’am Cathy…

Hi Nathaniel. Wanted to stop by and check out the blog. You’re doing well and have been improving. Yes, running is a lot more mental and physical. It’s wanting to get out and doing it.

Please take care and keep on running!

  6. i2runner says:

The famous sfrunner! I’ve read a lot about you in the Philippines’ running blogoshere lately, and it seems like you’re a Rockstar. Next time I hope to meet you and get your autograph.

Thanks for visiting my blog. It’s actually my first time to make one. I was hoping it would improve my running by at least 0.000003241%, and right now it’s exceeding my expectations. LOL! :-D

I would be posting some of my running experience every weekend (maybe after a long run to help me relax) and whatever running philosophies I would learn.

Please feel free to comment a lot, and I would appreciate some feedback also and maybe share your experience as well.

    Thank you and happy holidays.

Congrats on your new blog! It’s a good way to practice your English and spelling hehehe :)

Sabi ko na mga runners talaga pag di tumatakbo nagba-blog :)

Nah… I don’t think my engrish could improve my running. Na inggit lang ako sa inyo ni Cathy kasi ganda ng blogs nyo. And you guys can write good and interesting articles. I hope to make good blogs like you do someday.

natz, nice blog and posts. the secret in writing is to write anything as if you are telling a story to your friend or to anybody verbally. grammar and spelling are not that improtant in blogging but the idea and information that you want to convey to your reader is the most important. good luck & keep on running.

    Nathaniel Garcia,

Hello, I hope you are having a wonderful day. Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your site. My wife is filipino and we are currently living in the US. We plan on moving back to the PH so she can be closer to family. Family is very important for her, so I am more than will to make the move. Family is also a very important aspect in the PH culture, and that is what I dearly admire. We will probably be in the Manila area or closer to Mariveles. I enjoy your site because we are both runners and I crave for information regarding running and the PH. I apologize for making this comment so long. My wife tells me that the running scene there in the PH is constantly growing. Thats Great. I hope to be there soon enough. Well, take care and feel free to visit my site, http://essenceofrunning.blogspot.com/. Have a great day.

    Kenley

  21. i2runner says:

    Hi Kenley,

Thanks for visiting my site. Your comment is OK, it’s very informative. Nice to hear you and your wife are planning to go here in the Philippines and also start running. I’ll have to warn both of you though, that the weather here is quite warmer and more humid so you both will have to adjust a little bit. The running scene is growing at an unbelievable rate here right now that I’m finding it hard to catch-up. I think Marieveles is near Bataan, I’m not so sure, you’ll have to visit baldrunner.com, they have a 102Kms Bataan Death Race there. IN SUMMER!

I see that you have just recently started to run again, but since you already ran track and field in high school, you’re probably aware of your abilities in running. I think your experience in competitive track racing will be a lot of help in road racing and you will be able to push yourself a lot further than most runners can. You probably have a higher tolerance for pain.

Thanks for visiting again, hope to see you and your wife when you come to the Philippines. Please email me at zixednatz@gmail.com.

    Nathaniel
